Money, Money, Money!

This week we have been using our number knowledge about facts and numbers with money.  We made lolly shops (thanks Mrs H!) with our learning buddies.  We looked at and talked about the coins we have in New Zealand. We worked out different ways we could pay for a $5.00 toy at the shop.
Here are some of our ideas:
$1 + $1 + $2 + $1 = $5
$2 + $2 + $1 = $5
$1 +$1 + $1 + $1 + $1 = $5
$1 + $1 + $2 + $1 = $5

We got to go shopping at each others shops and practise buying the lollies with our pretend money and we were got really good at reading the prices.
