The Praying Mantis

 Today Taylah brought a praying mantis to school. We learnt alot about he praying mantis and wrote all about them at writing time. Thanks Taylah for giving us a great topic for writing today! Here are some of our stories.

 I brought a fantastic praying mantis to school today. It can walk very fast because her legs are very long legs and it has six legs and big eyes. She is pregnant and my dad saw an egg and there is going to be a thousand praying mantises in it. I can’t wait until the egg hatches. Taylah 

 Wow Taylah what a spikey praying mantis you brought to school. If can jump miles away! She is four centimetres long. It has humongous eyes and big wings. It has a big stomach. She has branches in its box. It is in a box with a sliding door. It looks like a garden. By Jessica

 One day Taylah got a new praying mantis. We sat in a circle and we passed it around so we could have a close up look at it. We saw the praying mantis. A praying mantis is an insect. It is light green and it has big eyes. It can grow to be 4 centimetres. They can jump a really long way. By Naomi
