The Swamp Eggs

We have read "The Swamp Eggs" by Jo Windsor. Here are some of our stories about the big book.

There was a pukeko called Gwen. She had six eggs. They are light brown eggs with dark brown dots and they were in Gwen’s nest. An eagle came along and a snake came along and a cat came along. They all wanted to eat the eggs. Gwen shooed them away by chasing them. When they hatched they went somewhere safe with their mum Gwen.   Naomi 

 Gwen has little oval black spotty eggs that she is protecting. An eagle came looping down to eat the eggs but she couldn’t. There were more animals. She shooed them away from the nest.    Ben 

 Gwen has six eggs in the nest. Animals came by. An eagle and a cat came by. Gwen shooed them away.   Sienna 

 Gwen had six eggs and she wanted to keep them safe. The eggs look like easter eggs and they are speckled. A cat came by and an eagle came by and a snake slithered by as well. They wanted to eat the eggs so Gwen chased them away by pecking them away.   Louisa
